The day dawned fine and sunny with a light breeze – perfect for viewing some beautiful horses. Crowds started arriving early and enjoyed refreshments overlooking the mares and foals.

Looking up to the stables.

Anne McIntosh commenced the day with an extremely informative presentation on achieving a beautiful show ring pose using rewards based training. Her equine models were the yearling colt Eklipse and the more polished two year old Aviva, both by Valor.

During the break, during which a delicious lunch was served, the stables and foal paddocks were open, much to the delight of the Syrah horses, who can’t get enough cuddles.

There was also an opportunity to view Reda Howe’s fabulous artwork, and peruse the Arabian book stand.

Wade Bailey then gave a presentation on the points to look for in choosing a saddle Arabian.

The stallion Madaan was the model for this, as not only is he an extremely successful halter horse, his conformation is ideal for saddle work.

The parade of stallions concluded the day, with each of Madaan, Antaarez, Valor and of course, the new boy, Azteq LBA (US) receiving rapturous acclaim.

Many thanks to the team who made it all possible – trainer, Anne McIntosh, Trainer and Stud Manager, Wade Bailey, Syrah team – Julie Smith, Zoe Phillips and Kim Packer, good friends Danny Giles, Anna and Clint Salisbury, and my family – Michael, Spencer and Evan Liapakis and Lynden Franklin.

Thank you also to all our guests for making the day a success.
